Book Review: "Surprised by Laughter"

If you're anything like me, you are probably looking into this book with some idea that it is going to be a humorous tale about the life and inspirations of C. S. Lewis. Terry Lindvall's "Surprised by Laughter: The Comic World of C. S. Lewis" read more like a college textbook than something that should have been a cozy read. As somebody with a degree in English, I'm over the whole need to analyze somebody's life in a textbook fashion. While this book may prove ideal for a classroom setting, I couldn't help but regret my decision to read this book. I'm sure some of you reading this may find it enjoyable, but if you're looking for a relaxing book, I suggest looking elsewhere. I received this book free from the publisher through the BookSneeze®.com book review bloggers program. I was not required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own.
